St Nicholas, Whitehaven
St Nicholas, Whitehaven on the West Coast of Cumbria.
There has been a church on this site since 1693. It was rebuilt and enlarged in 1883., but a huge fire in 1971 destroyed much of the building including the nave, the ruins of which can be seen in the gardens. The tower now houses a community centre, a small place of worship and a volunteer run cafe.
