St. Michael's Church, Kirkby Thore
St Michael's Church, Kirkby Thore in the Eden Valley of Cumbria.
A 12th century church with a defensive tower. Sandstone from the nearby Roman Fort of Bravoniacvm is believed to have been used in the building of the church. A 15th century bell is traditionally said to have been brought from Shap Abbey by the last abbot, who was also rector of Kirkby Thore.
