Salford Quays
Detroit Bridge separating the Huron and Erie Basins at Salford Quays, Salford in Greater Manchester.
The bridge was built in 1941 to carry the twin-track railway that linked the Manchester Ship Canal Railway to Trafford Park. The Manchester and Salford docklands closed in the 1970s, but the bridge was saved to become a feature of the redevelopment of The Quays. It was refurbished as a pedestrian swing bridge and moved to its current position in 1988. The NV Appartments lie to the left ofthe photo.
