Birch trees on the old Flodder Allotment, Whitbarrow, Witherslack, Cumbria, UK.
In 1815, Whitbarrow was divided into enclosures or allotments for the local land owners. The Flodder Allotment, now part of the Hervey Memorial Nature Reserve is managed by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and named after the Trust’s founder, Canon Hervey.
