Hurtle Pot, Chapel-le-Dale
Hurtle Pot, Chapel-le-Dale in the Yorkshire Dales.
Hurtle Pot is a 64m deep pothole with an underground ’lake’, popular with cave divers. It links with the 2.4km Jingle Pot system of passages. After heavy rain, the waters can be heard deep below ground and these sounds led to rumours that the pot was inhabited by a boggard.
