KINGSDALE 07A - Yordas Cave
A family in Yordas Cave in Kingsdale, North Yorkshire.
Legend suggests the cave was named after a Nordic giant, but most probably it comes from the Norse 'Jord ass' meaning earth stream. It was a former show-cave in Victorian times.
In good weather, with a bright torch, wellingtons and permission from the owners at Braida Garth Farm you can explore the main chamber, The Great Hall and view the waterfall in The Chapter House. Be aware that the cave floods quickly so do not enter in heavy rain.
