Abbeystead Pumping Station in the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire.
This was the scene of a tragic disaster in 1984 when a methane gas explosion killed 16 of a group of 44 people who were attending a public presentation by North West Water Authority to demonstrate the operations of the station.
A plaque beside the station commemorates those who died in the explosion.
