This Victorian stained glass window contains the coat of arms of Miles Coverdale, Bishop of Exeter in the central light.
Coverham was the 16th century birthplace of Miles Coverdale who was famed for his 1538 translation of the Bible. He later served as Bishop of Exeter before escaping abroad during the rign of Queen Mary. After Mary's death, he returned to England to serve as rector of St Magnus the Martyr Church in London.
