The 1861 Holy Trinity Church with a backdrop of Maiden Moor and a traditional Lakeland shard fence (upright slabs of slate) at Grange in Borrowdale, Cumbria.
The church dates from 1861 and was built with money raised by a local lady, Margaret Heathcote who also painted the two tablets bearing the Ten Commandments in the chancel. Her photograph hangs in the church porch. The church has a barrel shaped ceiling with striking dogtooth beams. The dogtooth pattern is reflected in the stonework around the exterior door and windows..
