Charles Eamer Kempe (1837 – 1907)
A Sussex-based designer and manufacturer of stained glass whose studios produced over 4,000 windows. From about 1895, Kempe added a small insignia of a wheatsheaf from his family’s coat of arms to his windows. After his death, the insignia changed to a wheatsheaf with a black tower.
