The famous 1933 Art Deco Midland Hotel was originally owned by the Midland Railway Company and is now recognised as a Transport Heritage Site. The hotel was designed by Oliver Hill and in 1989, featured in episodes of the TV series Poirot.

This is all that remains of the 1853 Morecambe Harbour which closed in 1904 with the opening of the harbour at Heysham. The Jetty was rebuilt as a major sea defence in 1995 and is now an important feature of the Tern Project with amazing artwork: The Maze, Magpie Hopscotch, Tongue Twisters, Food Chain, Word Search, Compass, bird sculptures and bollards.
