St. Michael's Church, Whittington
Church of St. Michael, Whittington, Lancashire.
The church stands on the site of an old motte and bailey castle. There has been a church here since 1200, but the oldest part of the current building is the 15th century tower. The rest of the church was greatly restored in 1875 by Austin and Pailey.
