Gayle Mill
Gayle Mill, Gayle near Hawes in Wensleydale, Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire.
Gayle Mill was built in 1784 as a Richard Arkwright design cotton mill, then the building was converted in 1879 to a water-powered sawmill. Today it is owned by the North of England Civic Trust. After taking third place in the 2004 TV series, 'Restoration', the trust gained sufficient funding to renovate the building and restore all the Victorian machinery to full functionality.
