Heron Corn Mill, Beetham
Heron Corn Mill on the River Bela, Beetham, Cumbria.
The present building dates from 1750 but corn has been ground here since 1220. This photo shows the new turbine house. The mill closed in 1958, bringing to an end 900 years of commercial corn milling. The mill buildings are now used for educational and arts projects.
